The artist of the month in May is Anna Karín Lárusdóttir. An exhibition of her short films opens on Thursday, May 9 at 3pm, with a viewing of her work in a cinema atmosphere in the museum space. Everyone is welcome while space allows. After the opening, the films move down to the gallery and the exhibition runs until May 31.

Anna Karín is an up-and-coming director from Egilsstaðir. She graduated from the Icelandic Film School in 2019 and has since been working as director, writer, editor and producer, both as a freelance filmmaker but also at RÚV, the national broadcasting service and Sagafilm. She is extremely interested in society, family relationships, gender issues and the emotional life of young people, and she explores those things in her works. Her short films Felt Cute and XY have traveled all around the world and won several awards. Anna Karín also received the award "Invention of the Year" at Eddan 2024, the Icelandic Film Academy Awards.
